Research Computing Services
Research Computing Services (RCS) at NYU Abu Dhabi is a set of services that supports researchers use of technology as an enabler for their research activities.
We have adapted our High Performance Computing (HPC) Center services to meet and satisfy faculty and researchers’ changing teaching and research needs for High Performance Computing, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Research Application, Storage and Data management.
Members our team engage researchers and faculty across all academic divisions, centers and institutes at NYU Abu Dhabi. We provide HPC, Research Application Hosting, Research Professional Services and Research Lab Support Services.
Muataz Al Barwani joined NYUAD in February 2012 to establish the High Performance Computing (HPC) center and support all computational research at NYU Abu Dhabi.
Before coming to NYU Abu Dhabi, Muataz was a full-time tenured faculty member at Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, Oman from 2000 to 2012, where he taught Physics, advised students, contributed to academic administration and carried out research in the area of computational physics and material science.
He received his bachelor's’ degree in Physics from Sultan Qaboos University (Oman) in 1992, a master’s degree in Physics from Brown University (USA) in 1995 and a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from the University of Bristol (UK) in 2000.
