Winter Institute in Digital Humanities
The inaugural Winter Institute in Digital Humanities (19-22 January 2020) is an event exploring the intersection of technology and the humanities. It will feature intensive courses led by global experts, as well as lectures and opportunities in community building in digital research and pedagogy. The courses will have a humanities orientation, but we welcome other disciplines. Our focus will be on digital academic practices within the diverse communities and contexts in which NYU Abu Dhabi is embedded.
We are offering workshops on a number of topics (pending sufficient enrollment):
> Programming for the Humanities
> Data in/and the Humanities
> Digital Humanities in the Classroom
> Open Forms of Knowledge
> Object-Based Digital Humanities for Cultural Heritage
> Image Analysis
> Spatial Humanities
> Virtual Reality
> Text Analysis of Arabic
We invite applications to participate in the Winter Institute in Digital Humanities from researchers, educators, advanced students, academic staff, librarians, administrators or any other person for whom current trends in knowledge production in digital environments are of interest.
Places are limited, and admission is by application only.
