Commencement Public Health Requirements

Vaccination and Testing Compliance

In order to access campus, all members of the NYUAD community and their guests, including all Commencement attendees, are required to present the following:

  • Vaccinated attendees must show a green screen on the Al Hosn app or their COVID-19 vaccination certificates, proof of booster vaccination (if required), and negative diagnostic PCR test result that is no older than 30 days.
  • Unvaccinated attendees must show a negative diagnostic PCR test result from any accredited Department of Health approved health facility that is no older than 48 hours.

Campus Access

All Commencement attendees should access campus through the main campus entrance, or the basement car park entrances. Barriers that are currently in place next to the Welcome Center will be removed and Public Safety Officers will be in place to carry out temperature checks and to review the vaccination and testing documents of all attendees.

Mask Requirements and Guidance

All students and Commencement guests are required to wear well-fitting masks when inside University buildings, except for individuals alone in closed rooms or offices, or while actively eating or drinking. Masks may be worn when outdoors, but they are not required.

In alignment with NYU New York, the following masks are permitted for use on campus:

Disposable masks (surgical or medical procedure masks)

  • KN95 masks

  • KF94 mask

  • N95 masks

Cloth masks can only be used over a disposable surgical mask, which can help improve the fit and adds layers.
