Saadiyat, the new home for all NYUAD students and their new, extended NYUAD families, is a modern and new state of the art campus built to meet the needs of NYUAD students, faculty, and staff. NYU Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island campus is a pedestrian campus that combines traditional and modern architectural elements to reflect the University's three identities: Abu Dhabi, New York, and the world. Designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects PC, the campus covers nearly 40 acres and promotes interaction between living and learning, research and teaching, and the disciplines, as well as faculty, students, and staff.
Friendships and communities are built at the Saadiyat campus — it is home to all NYUAD undergraduates, as well as many of the NYUAD graduate students, faculty, and staff.
With three residential colleges housing approximately 750 undergraduate students, Saadiyat features multiple on-campus dining halls featuring international menu selections, new fitness facilities, Spiritual Life Resource Center, Career Development Center, study lounges, computer rooms, Campus Lounge and student lounges, and Multipurpose Rooms.
The residential colleges at Saadiyat offer an array of living options. Students can select Coed buildings, buildings separated by gender, and non-visitation floors for both males and females. The student suites at Saadiyat consist of two-double room suites and four-single room suites. All suites include a common area, kitchen, and bathroom(s).
Within each four-person suites, rooms are equipped with every basic item students might need for a quite comfortable life provided by the University. The rooms are spacious, new, and have their own living room, bathroom, and kitchenette. Suites are furnished with a couch, two chairs, coffee table, and dining table with four chairs. Each student will have bed, desk with chair, and a wardrobe with a chest of drawers contained within it furnished in their room.
Every floor has a student lounge equipped with a kitchen, microwave, water cooler, laundry room with washers and dryers, an iron and ironing board, and an LCD television.
You don't have to choose your roommate, you can let the system pick for you, which is what I did, and it turned out really well.
