Research Areas: Machine Learning, Signal Processing, Haptic Technology
Having graduated from a high school in Hungary with focus on special mathematics education, Tamas was accepted to the inaugural undergraduate class of New York University Abu Dhabi. This program provided him with a multidisciplinary engineering education and extraordinary opportunities such as to deepen knowledge by completing a year of classes at the University of Warwick. He obtained a BS in Electrical Engineering with Summa Cum Laude in 2014.
Tamas is currently an Electrical Engineering PhD Candidate in the NYU Global PhD Fellowship program, with an expected graduation date of 2019. He loves capturing and manipulating data to achieve real-life benefits. Whether it’s a real-time sign language translator for hearing-impaired people (his undergraduate C+apstone project) or a remote material recognition system for advanced robots and high-quality human interaction over distances (his PhD research), he am passionate about finding solutions to practical machine learning and signal processing problems and implementing them into fully functioning devices.
