Mikhaïl Xifaras has been Professor of Public Law at Sciences Po since September 2008, where he teaches legal philosophy, property, and jurisprudence. He has been the director of the doctoral program from 2009 to 2018.
Mr. Xifaras has been a regular Visiting Professor at Harvard Law school (2011-2015) and at Keio Law School in Japan (2012-2018).
Alumni of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (1990), he holds an agrégation de l’enseignement supérieur in Public Law (2004) and in Philosophy (1993). MA from Paris Sorbonne in Law (1993) and Philosophy (1994), from Nanterre University in History (1992). PhD in Philosophy from the University of Franche Comté (2001).
Mr. Xifaras was nominated Junior Member of the Institut Universitaire de France (2006-2011), was awarded the Prix Ouverture Internationale of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Brussels, 2003), the Marie-Curie Grant from the European Commission (2003). He was a Visiting Fellow at Harvard Law School on a Fulbright Scholarship (2000), and the winner of a Fondation Thiers Grant (1999).
He has published extensively on the theory of property, history of modern legal thought, and political philosophy.
