Alissa Strunk is an Associate Instructor of political science at New York University Abu Dhabi and a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science at Indiana University. Her research uses qualitative field work to explore the dynamics of cooperation and contestation between ideologically opposed youth groups in Morocco and Tunisia during the Arab Uprisings. Specifically, the project examines the effects of formal and informal government inclusion and exclusion of diverse groups on their ability to bridge divides in pursuit of collective action. Alissa holds an MA in political science from Indiana University and a BA in both political science and religious studies from the University of Oregon.
