Dr. Luiz Fernando Capretz has vast experience in the software engineering field. Before joining Western University in Canada, he worked as a software engineer at both technical and managerial levels, taught, and did research on the engineering of software in Brazil, Argentina, England, Italy, Japan, and the United Arab Emirates since 1981. He is the former Assistant Dean for IT and e-Learning and was the Director of the Software Engineering Program at Western University, from where he is currently on leave. He has authored over 200 academic papers on software engineering in leading international journals and conference proceedings. Besides work, he enjoys his family life, skiing, and playing soccer.
