Professor Mourad a Visiting Professor of Computer Science at New York University Abu Dhabi, Founding Director of the Cyber Security Systems and Applied AI Research Center and Professor of Computer Science at the Lebanese American University, Adjunct/Affiliate Professor at Ecole de Technologie Superieure of University of Quebec and Co-Founder of the ICAAN Group. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Concordia University, Montreal (Quebec), Canada and a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Laval University, Quebec (Quebec), Canada. In the past, he served as Post-Doctoral Fellow and Researcher at Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering, Concordia University. His research interests include Cyber Security, Federated Machine Learning, Intelligent Service/Network/Computation Optimization and Management in Emerging Technologies including Internet of Things, Cloud/Fog/Edge Computing, and Vehicular and Mobile Systems and Networks. He, in collaboration with colleagues from Canada, UAE and Lebanon, have been awarded major international, national, and local grants for funding his graduate students and research projects. He won the LAU research excellence award 2017. He supervised to successful completion 3 PostDocs, 3 Ph.D. and 25 M.Sc. students and many undergraduate capstone projects at the Lebanese American University (LAU), ETS Montreal, Concordia University and Lebanese University. He is currently co-supervising 1 Postdoctoral Fellow, 10 Ph.D. students and 3 M.Sc. students at LAU, Concordia University (Canada), ETS Montreal (Canada) and Polytechnique Montreal (Canada). He is a senior IEEE member. He serves/served as Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Services Computing, IEEE Network, IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management, IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, IET Quantum Communication and IEEE Communications Letters, as TPC member of several prestigious conferences and as technical reviewer of several highly ranked journals. He also serves/served as General Chair of IEEE IWCMC 2020, General Co-Chair of IEEE WiMob2016 and track/workshop/publicity chairs of several IEEE conferences.
