Education: BA University of Toronto; MA York University; PhD New York University
Vasilis Molos’ research explores the interplay of ideas, events, and identities in southeastern Europe from the latter part of the eighteenth century to the present. His work examines such topics as the origins of Greek nationalism, the transmission of Enlightenment ideas into the Greek world, and Catherine the Great’s Mediterranean project.
Molos’ current research project examines how ‘Greekness’ was being reimagined within the Greek diaspora between 1750 and 1832.
