Judith Miller is a specialist of French and Francophone Theatre (works from France, Africa, and the Caribbean). She is currently working on an anthology of African Francophone plays for Bucknell University Press. She has published numerous books and articles on theatre production and textual analysis. She has also translated some 25 plays and, while at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, directed some 20 plays in French with her students. She is the author, most recently, of a translation of a history of The Théâtre du Soleil by Béatrice Picon-Vallin (for Routledge, 2020). She served as the Director of NYU France from 1998-2003, the Head of the French Department at NYU from 2003-2009; and Dean of Arts and Humanities at NYUAD from 2012-2015.
