Jonathan Marks is Professor of Anthropology at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte His research interests focus on human variation and evolution and the history of the study of those subjects. His most recent book is Why Are There Still Creationists? (Polity, 2021).

His work has been published in journals from American Anthropologist to Zygon. In 2006, he was elected a Fellow of Section H (Anthropology) of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He was awarded the J. I. Staley Prize from the School for Advanced Research (2009) and the First Citizens Bank Scholars Medal from UNC-Charlotte (2011-2012).
