Edward Ziter is a theatre historian with a specialization in nineteenth-century British theatre and contemporary Arab theatre. He is the author of the Orient on the Victorian Stage(Cambridge UP, 2003), and is currently at work on a history of political theatre in Syria. His work on Syria has been supported by a Fulbright grant and a fellowship from the Humanities Institute at NYU.
