My research is focused on Derridean approaches to sound studies and performance practice. Recent publications have examined indeterminacy, hauntology, parergon, experimental music, the composer/performer interface, the rehearsal process, music and architecture, and music and the vsual arts.
As a performer, I specialize in 20th century and contemporary vocal music. I regularly work with living composers and have given more than 75 world premieres. I am interested in graphic notation, indeterminacy, mobile form composition and experimental and extended repertoire. My work is recorded by Metier/Divine Art.
Recent compositions have included 'Metatechnic' for two pianos and live electronics and 'Logosphere,' a soundscape exploring the concept of the Derridean 'supplement' in music.
