Public Affairs and Communications

NYU Abu Dhabi’s Office of Public Affairs and Communications work proactively to shape compelling narrative, raise awareness of the University, showcase the achievements and innovation of faculty and students, support major University initiatives, and advance the strategic goals of NYUAD while contributing to global dialogue. Public Affairs aims to enhance communications and relationships with diverse external audiences through storytelling, media outreach, design, and multimedia.

Public Affairs and Communications offer a range of creative services and strategies to amplify stories across a variety of communications channels.

  • Digital communications: dynamic multimedia storytelling through the University’s digital communications channels;
  • News and media relations: media outreach, message development, thought leadership opportunities;
  • Executive and internal communications: supporting University stakeholders to communicate effectively within the community;

Kate Chandler

Executive Director, Public Affairs and Communications

As Executive Director, Public Affairs and Communications, Kate Chandler is responsible for promoting NYU Abu Dhabi as a new model of higher education and fostering the University’s reputation globally. She oversees communications, marketing, media relations, brand experience, and online services and applications.

Kate joined the University in 2014 with a background in communications, marketing, government relations, and stakeholder engagement. She brings extensive experience in the development and implementation of strategic communications frameworks and brand development initiatives in government, education, and the private sector both in Canada and the UAE. She is passionate about shaping compelling stories and using bold approaches to traditional and digital marketing and communications to ignite brand potential and to guide transformative growth and success.
