Research Administration and Financial Planning

The Office of Research Administration at NYU Abu Dhabi is responsible for the University’s systems and processes regarding research administration and improved research ethics, governance, and compliance regulatory activities.

One of the main functions of the office is to provide support and direction to the NYUAD faculty, staff and students by facilitating the life cycle grants management process, from proposal development and submission to post award management.  Research Administration at NYUAD optimizes research productivity by managing the administrative, financial, reporting,and compliance matters, and fostering robust relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Nada Messaikeh
Associate Vice Provost, Research Administration and Financial Planning

Nada Messaikeh is responsible for providing support to the NYUAD’s research, creative activities, and outreach initiatives supporting the Provost and the University Leadership in implementing the aspirational mission of NYUAD. In her current role, Nada leads the research administration functions including pre-award and post-award activities, research ethics and compliance, and Undergraduate research. She also provides administrative oversight for NYUAD internal competitive research grants including Research Enhancement Fund and Institute Centers. In addition to that, Nada oversees Academic HR and financial planning for both academic and research activities at NYUAD.

Nada has over 26 years experience in the private and public sector financial management, including 10 years in academic administration. Previous appointments include finance and administration director at Abu Dhabi Education Council and Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, senior manager enterprise risk services at Deloitte M.E., and audit manager at Ernst & Young Beirut.

Nada holds a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration from the University of Manchester. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the state of Illinois. She has completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Business Administration at the Lebanese American University in Beirut.
