Academic Fiscal Affairs

The Office of Academic Fiscal Affairs supports the Provost, Deans, Vice Provosts, and other academic and administrative leaders in their budget and financial resource planning. It provides strategic recommendations and supporting analytics related to finances and resources associated with the academic and research mission of the University. The Office is also responsible for the the establishment and communication of effective sponsored program administration policies and procedures.

Sinikhiwe Maphosa
Director, Fiscal Affairs

Sinikhwe (Niki) brings more that 15 years of experience in higher education. Prior to joining NYUAD in January 2022, she worked at McGill University, one of the top research universities in Canada, where she was Director of Finance and Administration at the School of Continuing Studies. In her role at NYUAD, Niki is responsible for overseeing the fiscal affairs of the Office of the Provost and its respective units, including research programs. Niki also serves as a crucial thought partner for the Executive Director of Finance and budget and the Assistant Vice Provost of Academic Administration and Planning, to provide oversight and effective administration of the support infrastructure of budgetary operations in all academic units. Niki completed an MBA at Laurentian University, and she is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
