New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Center Coordinator reporting to the Associate Dean for Student Success and Curricular Affairs; Professor of Mathematics; Global Network Professor of Mathematics, Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, NYU.
The Center Coordinator ensures all administrative tasks are organized and completed on an as and when needed basis. The Center Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day as well as long-term management of administrative functions to ensure the smooth running of research activities conducted at the center. A high degree of initiative, independence of action and the ability to achieve results without explicit guidance is expected.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations:
Responsible for operational and administrative activities to include short and long-term planning; program and policy development, implementing and managing day-to-day procedures; planning and organizing seminars, meetings, workshops, conferences, including travel itineraries. Coordinate and compose background information for various activities and projects
Coordinating with the NYUAD Institute programming for logistics
Reporting:
Develop, implement and manage efficient and effective administrative support, services for programs and ancillary services. Keeping track of timelines, reminding involved members of milestones, due dates and following up on those
Helping the Director and other Co-PIs in reporting/applying internally and externally.
Development of graphs, tables and other scientific data for manuscripts and presentations
Paperwork:
Process invoices and other miscellaneous payments for the center
Assist with the development and administration of various center programs and prepares reports
Monitor invoices and presents graphic data reports
Budget:
Advise and assist in the maintenance of center budget; coordinate and monitor budget transactions within scope of authority and resolve issues as they arise; assemble information and data in order to analyze current budgets for year-end projections
Communication:
Independently compose correspondence and answer inquiries regarding highly sensitive matters which may have a significant impact on the goals of the center
Respond to center inquiries (mail, phone, email) including communication with international grantees and colleagues; coordinate outreach activities on behalf of the center
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree
Required Experience:
3 – 5 years’ experience in a comparable position with a proven record of working within and coordinating administration services
Superior written and oral communication skills in English
A capacity to work within complex organizational structure being customer facing and quality of
service orientated
A high standard of computing and internet skills
As a mid-level Administration Coordinator be professional, resourceful and use initiative in a
team environment showing mid-level leadership capabilities, having exceptional discretion,
confident communications skills
Preferred Experience:
3 – 5 years’ experience in an academic organization
