New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Senior AV Event Analyst reporting to the Assistant Director, Audio Visual Services.

The position of Senior AV Event Analyst is responsible for the coordination, planning, execution and support of NYUAD sponsored academic and public events. Core areas of responsibility are acting as the primary contact for co-ordination and planning for the deployment of AV event resource and equipment (fixed or mobile) and providing broadcast operation support during events. Position assumes lead for gathering client requirements with university stakeholder in addition to promoting AV Event Services to community. Candidate must have advanced demonstrable knowledge and operational support ability for AV production audio, video and lighting equipment, plus the ability to implement best practices and recommendation to ensure a consistent and professional service to the NYUAD Community.

Required Education: 

  • AVIXA Essential of AV Technology 
  • AVIXA-Recognized AV Technologist Test
  • Crestron DigitalMedia Certified Design-4K (DMC-D-4K)
  • Crestron DMC-E-4K - DigitalMedia Certified Engineer 4K 
  • NVX Design and Application
  • Crestron DigitalMedia Networking Certification
  • Autodesk AutoCAD
  • Live Sound Production Certificate or equivalent. 
  • Live Video Production Certificate or equivalent. 
  • ITIL Foundation Level 1

Preferred Education: 

  • Bachelor Degree or Higher
  • IPAF Certification ( 1a, 1b, 3a or 3b)
  • PASMA or international equivalent
  • PLASA National Rigging Certificate (NRC) or equivalent.   
  • ITIL Foundation Level 3
  • AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) 

Required Experience: 

  • Proven experience and track record in management and operation of broadcast, theatre, concert or live events
  • Experience of producing events or operation of audio or video and lighting systems during events
  • Experience of working with internal and external clients to gather requirements for events
  • Planning of AV system deployments including mobile equipment to fulfill each event requirements
  • Planning of AV event resources to fulfill events including resource daily and weekly planning
  • Maintain accurate booking and reporting for all events, including changes and cancellations using the NYUAD service ticket system and associated AV documentation
  • Responsible for the organization of event calendar and resources planner to facilitate pre booked AV event support for internal, student and external events
  • Creation and management of event quotations for AV event services
  • Management of AV equipment event setup including mobile equipment to ensure client and safety policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Programming (DMX) and operation of performance lighting systems for events and recordings
  • Designing and rigging supporting trussing systems for bespoke events (indoor / outdoor)
  • Provide mentoring and operation standards training to event team personnel
  • Provide high quality operation support for events including (audio, video, lighting and recording)
  • Conduct regular tests on the equipment to determine operating reliability and functionality (including safety testing)
  • As part of planned preventative maintenance, schedule servicing and repair of AV event equipment
  • Read and follow detailed CAD drawings for fault diagnosis and rectification

Preferred Work Experience: 

  • Experience working in higher education and support of a wide range of broadcast event audio visual equipment from leading manufacturers such as BlackMagic Design, Yamaha, Audinate (DANTE), Panasonic, Meyer Sound, Lab Gruppen, QSC, Tannoy, Shure, Sennheiser, Martin, Terbly, Cyclops, Champsys, FreeStyler DMX
  • Experience of digital and analog audio event setup including digital audio networks
  • Experience of broadcast systems infrastructure and cabling standards
  • Excellent and methodical documentation standards
  • Excellent computer skills for both Windows and Mac OS
