New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Human Resources Communications Manager reporting to the Deputy Chief for People and Performance, NYUAD.

The Human Resources Communications Manager, will be responsible for designing and managing strategic Human Resources communication.  The job-holder will be responsible for promoting the Office of Human Resources through digital communications, aimed primarily at internal audiences. This will be accomplished through a combination of web, multimedia, and digital marketing strategies.

The Human Resources Communication Manager will work closely with the Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer and the Public Affairs team, acting as a liaison between the two departments to create, organize, edit and upload regular content on the web and other multimedia platforms.

The Human Resources Communications Manager will write and edit various communications to promote Human Resources/ Employee-focused initiatives through multiple channels, including newsletters and updating the web and multi-media channels on a regular basis.  The job-holder will proactively create innovative content and implement new communications strategies to promote Human Resources activities and programs, to faculty, researchers, staff and the wider NYUAD community.

The job-holder will create and publish all internal communication, create presentations in support of communication initiatives ensuring NYUAD’s style guidelines are upheld and maintained at all times helping to maintain and develop the University’s digital asset library.

Key Responsibilities:

Communication Channels:

  • Serve as interface and liaison point between the Office of Human Resources and the Web Team
  • Create, organize, develop and maintain web content in the content management system (CMS) for NYUAD Public Site (both general information on the individual lab pages and newsworthy content on the news/features pages)
  • Execute day-to-day updates to the web and generate new, innovative content that promotes and advertises Human Resources, its programs, faculty, staff and community initiatives
  • Ensure that all online material is of the highest quality and accuracy, is published on time, and complies with the University’s policies and regulations
  • Edit and review all content submitted for web publication to ensure content and features support NYUAD’s messaging, branding and communications goals
  • Monitor (quality control) content on intranet and trouble shoot or escalate
  • Ensure site design and content are in compliance with NYUAD guidelines
  • All ad hoc projects as required

Communications Strategy:

  • Develop and implement an innovative and sustained Human Resources communications plan

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree 

Required Experience:

  • 5 years’ experience in a similar position & with direct experience in developing public or internal communications preferably in an academic organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including editing, grammar and proof reading
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization ability – undertake multiple ongoing projects with responsibility and highly effective multitasking ability and meet deadlines whilst maintaining consistent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Digital production/design, including layout and composition
  • Knowledge of CMS, Adobe and MS office
  • Excellent project management skills, outstanding organizational, multi-tasking and management skills. Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Adobe
  • Superb communication skills and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Highly professional approach and calm presence under pressure 

Preferred Experience:

  • Proven project management skills and administrative work in higher educational institutions
