New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Specialist, Office of Social Responsibility and Global Outreach reporting to the Head, Office of Social Responsibility and Global Outreach.

The Specialist will support the successful delivery of Global Outreach initiatives, including Visiting Student Recruitment and Visiting Student Programs as well as e-Social Responsibility initiatives, including the Adult Education Program and Le Naktashif al-Emarat (LNAE) community programming.

The Specialist will coordinate and organize recruitment activities, and events (for students in Abu Dhabi, New York, and Shanghai) aimed at increasing the number of students from the New York and Shanghai campuses who study away in Abu Dhabi and will assist in developing recruitment materials and communications, including presentations, print, web, and social media content.

They will additionally will help coordinate and develop educational and social /educational programming in line with the expressed interests of the NYUAD community that creates a sense of cultural understanding and integration to the UAE and NYUAD community.

The Specialist will maintain inventory of all participants (attendance and demographics) in educational and social programming offered by the Office of Social Responsibility and Visiting Student Programming, along with facilitating orientations and in-person briefings.  They will also maintain strategic plans, metrics of success, and expenditures for the Office of Social Responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and independently leads visiting student events and activities on and off-campus
  • Assist in developing and organizing recruitment activities and events (for students in New York, Shanghai, and student assistants from Abu Dhabi) aimed at increasing the number of students from New York and Shanghai campuses who study away in Abu Dhabi
  • Assist in compiling metrics and assessment reports that include feedback from visiting student programs; produces enrollment and market research to inform strategy development and contributes to departmental reporting in general
  • Responsible for budget monitoring and the production of budget reports for the Office of Social Responsibility and Global Outreach
  • Provides support for new programs and initiatives when needed
  • Assist in developing recruitment materials and communications, including presentations, print, web, and social media content
  • Coordinate and develop educational and social /educational programming in line with the expressed interests of our community that creates a sense of cultural understanding and integration to the UAE and NYUAD community. Resources will help OSR meet a variety of needs including the teaching courses, organizing of events, leading volunteer activities, expanding OSR program’s external reach, and building community
  • Maintain inventory of all participants (attendance and demographics) in educational and social programming offered by the Office of Social Responsibility and Visiting Student Programming
  • Facilitates orientations and in-person briefings for all vendors & contracted and DW colleague new joiners, including an orientation to OSR programming, downloading of Guidebook, English assessments, and ambassador program
  • Maintains strategic plans, metrics of success, and expenditures for the Office of Social Responsibility. Assist in the supervising of OSR student assistants
  • Designs and implements annual community survey for all constituencies on campus and creates a report to share with NYUAD leadership and beyond. Assists in producing assessment reports that include feedback from all visiting student programs

This role requires some weekend and evening work to support programming of the office

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree and semester study away experience during college years

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field or extensive hands-on experience through internships or training experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing strategies related to undergraduate enrollment management and study away
  • Excellent attention to detail and consistent accuracy
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Office suite, social media platforms (for business use), Qualtrix, InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, web applications, and CMS management
  • Strong record-keeping and data management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects on tight deadlines
  • Professional maturity and judgment, including exceptional discretion and a capacity for resourceful initiative in a team context

Preferred Experience:  

  • Experience working with college students
