Position Summary

New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Video and Broadcast Manager reporting to the Director of Production within the Arts Center.

The position will require someone with expert knowledge of video, visual and broadcast equipment who is resourceful, adept at problem solving, and able to collaborate with Production and Programming staff in delivering technical support for all Arts Center productions.

  • Oversee and supervise the daily operations of the Video and Broadcast team plus additional freelancers
  • Perform set-up of video and broadcast equipment and provide operational training for equipment within the technical department
  • Operate, and direct the operation, of complex audiovisual equipment such as operating and controlling multiple cameras, archive microphones, switchers, projectors, etc. as well as live content playback
  • Manage and perform routine equipment checks/maintenance, ensuring that repairs and maintenance are done on a timely basis
  • Perform equipment troubleshooting of field equipment, studio equipment, teleconferencing equipment and broadcast control room equipment
  • Record and Archive events for internal and external productions
  • Edit, duplicate, and store archived performances for historical reference
  • Determine resources necessary for multimedia productions and how they may be obtained; contact individuals to ascertain availability of material supplies and equipment as necessary
  • Evaluate and recommend purchase of new equipment
  • Keep skills current with the latest versions of software, hardware and industry trends, as applicable to performance of assigned duties
  • A strong background in video production and broadcasting with a working knowledge of video streaming platforms and video encoding
  • Proven Hands on experience with screens, projectors and LED walls
  • Firsthand experience and technical knowledge producing events on virtual event platforms such as Zoom, Vimeo, Facebook and YouTube
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills - willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what needs to be done
  • Familiarity with current privacy and compliance requirements related to consumer/personal data

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 

Required Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Comfortable working independently with limited guidance 
  • Ability to oversee cross-functional teams on programming and content; providing strategic guidance and insight moving beyond a purely logistical role
  • Capable of managing teams; ensuring deadlines are being met 
  • Knowledge of in-person event production, including but not limited to: build-out operations, staffing and labor, talent management, design and registration
  • Exposure to web streaming platforms and encoding / stream management. Experience with NDI or Dante Audio is a plus
  • Staying up to date on the latest in production technology, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and video streaming services
