New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Reporting and Degree Audit Specialist, who will report to the Registrar of the Office of Academic Administration, this is is a fixed term contract until September 2021

The Reporting and Degree Audit Specialist will play a key role in developing and producing reports needed within the Registrar’s Office and for key stakeholders. They will also provide degree audit support to the Registrar and Associate Registrar by providing necessary administrative support to the degree audit process as required. They provide enrollment support to students and contributes to the day-to-day management of administrative functions to assist in the delivery of a wide variety of programs within the Office of the Registrar and the Office of Academic Administration. 

A high degree of initiative, independence of action, and ability to achieve results without explicit guidance is expected, as is the ability to work quickly and efficiently and with a very high degree of accuracy, particularly during busy times.

As this role is temporary in nature, candidates who can start immediately are preferred. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take an active role in identifying reporting needs from within the Academic Administration area and the wider university, and works with the Associate Registrar to develop specific reports and queries. This involves utilizing a number of different reporting related tools and systems, including BRIO, UDW+ and the campus student information system (Albert)
  • Maintain a current awareness of the requirements associated with all NYUAD degree programs. Working under the guidance of the Associate Registrar reviews student advisement records to assure completion of these degree requirements. Also participates in degree audit testing as new requirements are established in Albert
  • Work with the Associate Registrar to produce reports which are used in the Academic Standing process; updates the Academic Standing process documentation to include all changes that have arisen during the latest round, along with anticipated future changes
  • Liaise with student sponsors, many of whom communicate in Arabic; this includes preparing letters (often in Arabic) and transcripts for sponsors; maintains the FERPA log
  • Provide operational support during periods of peak activity; this includes (but is not limited to) assisting with enrollment related queries, production of enrollment verification letters in Arabic, and maintaining records within the student information system (Albert)
  • Preparesand reviews process documentation for key processes within the Office of the NYUAD Registrar

Required Education:

  • Bachelors Degree

Required Experience:

  • 1 year experience in a comparable position with a proven record of working within and coordinating administration services
  • Superior written and oral communications skills in English
  • A capacity to work within complex organizational structure being customer facing and quality of service oriented
  • A high standard of computing and internet skills
  • Knowledgeable with regard to complex academic policies
  • Demonstrates drive and initiative in a busy working environment
  • Be professional, resourceful and able to contribute effectively in a team environment showing mid-level leadership capabilities, having exceptional discretion, confident communications skills

Preferred Experience: 

  • 2 – 4 years’ experience in higher education
  • Arabic language 
  • Experience with SQL, along with Microsoft Access and Excel
  • Experience in using an ERP Student Information System, such as PeopleSoft or Banner
  • Knowledge with regard to complex academic policies
