New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Contracts and Sourcing Analyst reporting to the Procurement Manager.

The Analyst will partner with the Managers, Strategic Sourcing and other members of the Procurement team, conduct complex research and analysis of data relating to procurement spend that will inform departmental procurement sourcing strategies.  This role will support the Strategic Sourcing team with data analytics and contract administration to ensure compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Administration:

  • Coordinate the communication between the stakeholders to take the appropriate actions to ensure all contracts are reviewed in advance of their expiration
  • Analyze business and legal issues in proposed contracts and consult with Strategic Sourcing Manager or applicable department
  • Prepare supporting documents and obtain required approvals on behalf of Strategic Sourcing Manager for contract execution
  • Assist Sourcing in the maintenance of day-to-day contract administration functions, including timely updates to contracts and the coordination of executed contracts from signature to distribution
  • Draft of contract amendments and variation orders
  • Identify potential contract improvement opportunities and share with Strategic Sourcing Manager
  • Finalization of category C contracts (straight up renewals, single source provider with no changes on NYUAD template)

Strategic Sourcing:

  • Collect data for analysis projects including spend, industry, market, suppliers, and products/services
  • Assist in estimating the cost saving benefits for sourcing opportunities
  • Support Strategic Sourcing Manager in the execution of high value or complex tenders
  • Develop financial and marketplace analysis to support teams in conducting negotiations and awarding suppliers
  • Provide analytical support during the vendor screening and selection process
  • Support when necessary the creation and management of events in the Jaggaer Sourcing Director RFx tool

Spend and Data Analytics:

  • Generate routine and ad hoc reports, data and charts that would assist in the design and implementation of recommendations and solutions in an effort to reduce procurement category spend, identify supplier consolidation opportunities, and optimize contract compliance
  • Analyze spend data to identify catalog opportunities to enhance end-user experience
  • Identify trends and address areas of concern to focus on opportunities for improvement
  • Support Procurement teams to continuously enhance the end-to-end procure-to-pay process

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or Management

Preferred Education:

  • CIPS or equivalent professional qualification
  • Supply Chain Management 

Required Experience:

  • 2 years’ experience in data mining and data analytics work, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of P2P systems functionality and other tools recommended
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage large data sets and extrapolate meaningful insights
  • Ability to present insights derived from data analysis and document results concisely and through meaningful dashboards and charts
  • Ability to review and analyze key external trends and influences from a wide range of information used to support the development of sourcing plans
  • Strong critical thinking and reasoning skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively, independently, and to maintain accountability for one’s work product

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in a higher education, not-for-profit or governmental body
  • Change management experience including the ability to understand business requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to understand multiple and diverse stakeholder groups
