New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Business Analyst reporting to the Associate Director, Business Analysis.
The Program Services Office (PSO) serves as NYU Abu Dhabi’s program and project initiatives management organization. The objective of the PSO is to maintain a high performing organization through institutional outcomes by continuously evaluating performance, evolving and improving tools/techniques and ensuring close alignment with the University's strategic goals.
The PSO achieves this through managing and aligning initiative requests (Demand) and special project funding with the University strategy, and provides the governance framework throughout the change lifecycle from demand assessment to delivery. Through close partnerships with supporting departments both locally and globally, the PSO enables change with a full spectrum of Demand Management, Business Analysis & Process Improvement, Program & Project Management, Data & Analytics Enablement and Change Management.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Business Analysis, the Business Analyst (BA) will join a growing and vital component of the PSO which establishes the core of University Business Analysis capabilities providing an internal consulting capability within the institution and is therefore expected to have prior consulting experience (either within an organization or from a management consultancy).
The BA is expected to lead ‘discovery’ initiatives as well as provided tactical support for ‘implementation’ efforts on behalf of the institution and therefore experience in consulting within the higher education sector would be preferred.
The BA will be expected to have high levels of competency in documenting business requirements and processes, understanding business needs and identifying challenges as well as opportunities, provide analytical, strategic and design thinking, as well as detailed options analysis and complement and support project teams as required/expected.
The BA will also work closely with stakeholders and delivery teams globally across the NYU global network university both internally and externally and should have high levels of competency in stakeholder engagement and management.
Provide leadership and support on business analysis activities on a project, program or initiative
Deliver projects in accordance with industry standard frameworks associated with Business Analysis e.g. BABOK including but not limited to Business requirements/process, information gathering, elicitation, analysis and documentation
Provide tactical support on projects and programs
Act as a Subject Matter Expert in Business Analysis providing guidance and support to team members to develop the team and build a strong in-house BA capability
Take ownership for the design and development of one or more elements of the BA framework
Change management (stakeholder engagement, identify and deliver learning/training and user adoption, prepare communications)
Continuously develop personal BA skills and capabilities
Required Education, Certifications, Licensing or Training:
Bachelors in business management or equivalent
Preferred Education, Certifications, Licensing or Training:
Business Analysis Certification
Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma Certification
CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA
COBIT, TOGAF, ITIL
Required Work and Related Experience:
3-5 years in experience operating within the project management and business analysis spheres for a management consultancy, internal consultancy or higher education organization
Demonstrate a track record of working on projects that delivered different types of business outcomes such as revenue growth, customer satisfaction, process efficiency and/or cost reduction
Preferred Work and Related Experience:
3-5 years working for a big four consultancy (e.g. KPMG, EY) or equivalent management consulting firm
Demonstrate a significant track record of leading business analysis initiatives
Prior experience in working on projects in a higher education setting
Ability to manage a diverse set of stakeholders in both technical and non-technical environments
