New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Director, Human Resources Business Partner reporting to the Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer - Employee Relations, Learning and Engagement.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer, Employee Relations, Learning & Engagement, the Director, HR Business Partner, is a proactive Human Resources partner and internal consultant working in partnership with leaders, key stakeholders and HR colleagues to shape, develop and deliver HR plans and solutions in line with the needs and priorities of NYUAD.  This role functions as a trusted and collaborative strategic advisor to business unit leadership supporting organizational capability, workforce planning, employee development, performance, change management, and employee relations.

The Director, Human Resources Business Partner will take a lead role on project delivery as well as coaching and mentoring HR Business Partners ensuring consistently high standards of HR service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic diagnosis of people-related organizational planning, including coaching/counseling of senior clients, translating organizational strategy outcomes into tactical goals and objectives, aligning resources for initiative planning and execution, and developing metrics to ensure success measures are implemented and effective
  • Partner with HR leadership in the deliberation and establishment of both short and long-term departmental strategies that support organizational effectiveness aligned to the NYUAD strategic plan. Oversee the development, delivery and alignment of the annual ‘People Plan’ for all administrative departmental unit(s), ensuring all HR Business Partners are equipped with information related to each respective departments’ HR strategies and initiatives which help drive the needs of the University forward
  • In partnership with HR Leadership determine a strategic HR road-map to define organizational drivers and expected outcomes, and bring an organizational context to HR planning and execution. Contribute to people related strategic planning, operational goal setting, and risk management
  • Lead the HR Business Partners in developing and executing a life-cycle approach to people management focused on forecasting, staffing, development, on-boarding, performance management, retention, succession planning and leveraging workforce insights and analytics
  • Drive consistency of HR Business Partnering across the business units developing frameworks to support the NYUAD People Plan.  Lead the HRBP’s in the departmental People Plan development and delivery, developing and implementing workforce planning that meets the goals of the university
  • Provide expert input across of range of HR issues. Design and deliver high impact solutions that meet the needs of the business units
  • Participate in relevant projects, leading and championing as appropriate NYUAD’s reputation as a leading world class educational institution and employer of choice, and leads the business’s design, and change management of projects initiated by the HR Business Partners

Required Education:

  • Bachelors Degree

Required Experience:

  • 8 years’ experience working preferably as a senior HR Business Partner
  • Vast experience in organization development, human resources, training, and workforce planning
  • A proven and successful ability to build, lead, and integrate effective and lasting people management programs within a business
