NYUAD seeks to appoint a Head of Assessment and Accreditation reporting to the Vice Provost of Academic Administration.

The Head of Assessment and Accreditation provides professional-level support for the academic program functionality of the Office of Academic Administration.  The main focus of the position is providing support for NYUAD’s accreditation efforts through assessing institutional effectiveness, maintaining compliance with institutional policies and legal requirements, and overseeing production of the NYUAD Bulletin.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the Vice Provost provides support for institutional accreditation efforts by developing and implementing measures of institutional effectiveness.  Liaises with other offices re accreditation as required
  • Works with the Vice Provost, the Divisional Deans, and others to collect and provide appropriate documentation and administrative support in conjunction with institutional accreditation efforts
  • As requested and in consultation with appropriate campus offices provides data analysis and documentation for external parties such as Tamkeen, the Ministry of Higher Education, ADEC, etc
  • Works with the Vice Provost and the Director of Institutional Research to assure that institutional data is available to campus constituents as needed – consistent with institutional and legal restrictions. Provides analysis of such data as required
  • Works with the Registrar, the Divisional Deans, and others to assure that the annual Bulletin is produced in a timely manner
  • Provides support as needed for the mentoring program, including periodic reviews of effectiveness.  Works with the Vice Provost and the administrative support staff to assure timely revisions to the online mentoring support materials
  • Works with Compliance and other appropriate campus offices to assure that all operations of the office remain consistent with applicable university policies and procedures and applicable laws.  Makes recommendations as to office risk assessment and mitigation strategies
  • In conjunction with the Registrar oversees the general functioning of the Office of Academic Administration in the absence of the Vice Provost
  • Serves on university committees and attends meetings as required

Education Requirements

  • Masters degree or other post-baccalaureate degree (may substitute Bachelors degree and significant higher education experience)
  • Masters or other post-baccalaureate degree

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in higher education
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely and effectively with academics and senior management
  • Demonstrates drive and initiative in a busy working environment
  • Familiarity with higher education and complex academic policies
  • Facility with quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in academic accreditation
  • Strong computer-based statistical skills
  • University-level teaching experience
