The Agreement creates shared commitment to expand professional and educational opportunities, collaborative research and community projects

Press Release

In support of student and employee development in the areas of career, education, and training, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote partnership and collaboration in the areas of educational programming, community engagement, and professional development.

The MoU was signed for ADNOC by Mr. Mohammed Sanad Al Qubaisi, ADNOC’s Human Resources Deputy Director, while Mr. Peter Christensen, NYUAD Associate Vice Chancellor, Finance and Planning signed for the University in the presence of a number of senior executives from both sides.

The MoU, the first to be signed on NYUAD’s Saadiyat Campus, provides for a formal framework for cooperation in areas of common interest. Potential areas of collaboration may include student sponsorships, internships, and placements of NYUAD students; training and executive education of ADNOC employees; collaborative research and community projects; and lectures and technical consultation.

ADNOC’s Human Resources Director Mr. Mohamed S. Al Qubaisi said “In response to the national agenda for building a knowledge-based society, we continually engage in the process of analyzing the needs of the nation and particularly of ADNOC and its member companies for technical know-how, and new knowledge and technology. For that end, ADNOC has maintained strong relationships with other institutions through a healthy and growing set of Memoranda of Understanding which are expressly designed to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and technology, and to foster collaboration with our partner institutions, which share our passion for excellence in the fields of scientific research, training, and professional development. “

Peter Christensen, NYUAD Associate Vice Chancellor, Finance and Planning, said: “This Memorandum of Understanding will create significant opportunities for innovative collaboration in areas of regional relevance. Building strong, local partnerships with industry leaders such as ADNOC helps to strengthen NYU Abu Dhabi’s role in transferring knowledge and skills, and in contributing to the broader informational and educational exchange in Abu Dhabi, and the UAE.”

Since its inception in 1971, ADNOC has expanded its business activities to become one of the world’s leading oil companies. In line with its priority to provide educational training and development of employees, ADNOC strives to hire the brightest, most promising graduates, particularly UAE nationals, from the educational institutions inside UAE and prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of the interconnected world.
