My Country: Cristiana de Marchi

Open to the Public

Location 19 Washington Square North

A writer and poet, Cristiana de Marchi shows through her work a deep attention to the power and influence of words, to the role of narratives, to the possibilities of word associations, and to meaningful breaks by embracing the idea that storytelling ultimately needs a gap from which to originate. My Country focuses on the controversial territory of language, messages of propaganda, and the theme of identity, treated by the artist from an ironic, acute, and witty perspective.

Cristiana de Marchi lives and works in Beirut and Dubai. She was educated at the University of Torino and University of Roma. Her work has been featured in over 20 group exhibitions and five solo shows taking place in the US, Europe, and the Middle East.
