The NYUAD Entrepreneurship Weekends provide young entrepreneurs the opportunity to develop their own startups in two exciting weekend events. On November 9, students will develop their products and polish their business plans under the mentorship of prominent entrepreneurs in the UAE. Keynote speeches and training sessions led by renowned experts will help students further hone their entrepreneurial skills. The second weekend in early February culminates in a final pitch where participating teams will pitch to a panel of industry professionals and early stage investors, with one winning proposal selected by the judges.

Program Agenda

Throughout the weekends, students will learn the fundamentals of startup development through intensely engaging and educational sessions. Students carry the knowledge gained from these workshops and guest speakers into the field, where the lessons are used to develop their products and assemble viable business plans.

The weekend includes the following activities:

November 9th, Saturday: The day will begin with Team and Advisor Introductions and an initial Product Development Session. The bulk of the day will include the Entrepreneurship Weekend Lecture Series. This series will include the following lectures: Marketing, Branding, Financing, Business Plan Development, Scalability, Customer Acquisition, and Pitching. Students will have interactive product development sessions throughout the day with their mentors.

November 9th, Saturday Evening: The day concludes with “1-minute” pitches from each team to a panel of business experts. This will be followed by a mixer in the DTC Garden.

In early February, the teams will reconvene, and each team will pitch their developed business to a panel of judges and early-stage investors.
