The Executive Board deliberates on all issues presented to the Student Government, including matters pertaining to student interest groups; academic policies and curricula; campus life policies, services, and facilities, and any issues pertaining to the global network university as they apply to the NYUAD Student Body.
The executive board is made up of the following positions:
- Vice President
- Global Vice President
- Officer of Communications
- Officer of External Affairs
- Officer of Student Activities
- Senior Class Representative
- Junior Class Representative
- Sophomore Class Representative
- First Year Class Representative
The General Assembly, open to all students, meets regularly and hears the concerns of the student body. It discusses and votes on issues brought by the Executive Board and members of the student body.
Students and student interest groups may request funds for meetings, events, equipment, training, etc. The Student Funding Board, comprised of the Treasurer and Class Representatives, oversees SIG budget proposals and individual event proposals.
The three-person Election Board will be appointed two weeks prior to elections of the Executive Board.
The Election Board is responsible for enforcing proper election procedures and rules.
The Election Board will be responsible for deeming if campaign material and/or behavior is inappropriate. The Election Board can initiate the dismissal of a candidate running for office.
Student Government committees work on policy and initiatives related to various elements of students’ life on campus, from dining and health to academics and commencement planning.
International ambassadors appointed each semester advocate for NYUAD students at the sites where they are studying abroad. NYUAD also has representation on the all-university Student Senators Council, based in New York.
