My final transcripts will not be available by the deadline because my IB results (or A-levels) will not be in by then. What should I do?
Many students will not have their final transcripts by the deadline for a variety of reasons. If your transcripts will not be available until later on in the summer, you are automatically granted an extension to the deadline.
Please arrange with your high school counselor or IB Coordinator to have your final transcript sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in New York or Abu Dhabi. Final transcripts can be submitted by your counselor through the Common Application, by email to firstname.lastname@example.org from your counselor’s school email address, or by mail to either of the following addresses:
NYU Undergraduate Admissions
ATTN: NYU Abu Dhabi
383 Lafayette St.
New York, NY 10003
NYU Abu Dhabi Admissions
Building A4, 1st Floor

Abu Dhabi, UAE
I have incorrectly remembered the deadline for submitting all pre-arrival forms. Can I still submit my travel release and media release forms?
Yes, please email copies to the Office of First Year Experience at email@example.com. As we are required by law to have a hard copy of these documents on file, please remember to bring hard copies of these forms to Abu Dhabi.
You should complete the forms for minors if you are a minor (under 18 years old) on the date the form is due. When you are no longer a minor (after you arrive here), you can submit the updated forms.
You will not be able to activate your NYU NetID (network identification) until you receive the initial communication from NYUAD in May. That email will provide you with instructions on how to activate your email. It will be important for you to activate your NYU NetID immediately as all future communications will be sent solely to your nyu.edu email address.
If you have forgotten your NYU password, you will need to reset the password yourself through this link.
I tried to register an account on CareerNet but was unable to because the site told me that my email already existed in the system. What should I do?
During the summer, you will receive an email with a subject line "Welcome to NYUAD CareerNet!"
The email lists your login details along with an attachment of how to schedule an appointment with a career counselor.
In the June 2017 summer communication, all students received a link to the electronic copy of their summer reading book. lf there is an issue with receiving an electronic copy of the book, please email the Office of First Year Experience at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help you with your download. If your issue cannot be resolved, we can arrange to have a hard copy sent to you.
I have a question concerning the Math Placement Test. Will be there any booklet of formulas available or we are required to know all of them by heart?
In general, they will not be provided — although one or two may be included as determined by the assessment writers. And they are not permitted to be brought into the test.
Be sure to review the mentoring pages on the student portal if you haven't yet. Your faculty mentor has been assigned. You should be able to see who you will be working with on the student portal mentoring pages in the next few days. Your First-Year Writing Seminar placement results should be visible at the same time.
Those of you who took the placement assessment for the Relationship of Government and Religion course will see your placement results next week.
In the meantime, please take a few minutes to tell your new mentor a few things about you so he or she can get to know you a little bit better by completing this online form, if you haven't already done so. Your mentor will be reaching out to you soon to set up your summer mentoring conversation, so you'll want to be looking for an email from him or her over the next couple of weeks. If you haven't heard from your mentor inquiring about setting up a meeting by July 9, please contact email@example.com.
If you want to begin at the most basic level with Elementary I, there is no need to take a placement assessment. However, if you have previous experience with language coursework or are a heritage speaker of one of these languages, you should take a placement assessment. For Chinese or French there is an online evaluation that needs to be completed. For Arabic, NYU Abu Dhabi offers a placement test on campus during Marhaba.
