Orientation at NYUAD, called Marhaba (or welcome, in Arabic), is a one week introduction to NYU Abu Dhabi.

By the end of Marhaba, we hope that students will feel knowledgeable and comfortable accessing the resources offered at NYUAD, feel welcomed and integrated in the NYUAD community while forming a community as First Year students, and feel immersed in Abu Dhabi and its culture.

Marhaba Events

During Marhaba we offer a range of orientation sessions, optional activities, and evening entertainment. Sample sessions and activities include:

  • Divisional Dean introductions

  • Brief on intercultural intelligence

  • Abu Dhabi city tours

  • Trips to Ikea and Marina Mall

  • Student variety show

  • Milk and Cookies Before Class
