The Office of Residential Education, under the Associate Vice Chancellor of Campus Life, is responsible for maintaining student residences, which are an important component of the educational mission of NYUAD. In collaboration with our campus partners, the department works to provide excellent service, accommodations, and a safe environment to support intellectual curiosity, social networking, and exposure to the customs and cultures of Abu Dhabi and the world.
The Office of Residential Education is committed to the holistic growth and development of every NYUAD student and creates a seamless living and learning environment within the University's residential community. We provide services and resources designed to foster and support students' learning, personal and professional growth, and academic achievements in a safe, healthy, and positive environment.
Develop as a Leader
We provide opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills as Resident Assistants and members of Hall Council. We encourage students looking for these types of experiences to consider becoming involved:
As a Resident Assistant (RA)
The Resident Assistant (RA) is a full-time sophomore, junior, or senior with at least two years of full-time college experience at NYUNY, or one year at NYUAD. RAs live on student floors in an undergraduate hall and serve as role models, peer counselors, information resources, advocates, policy enforcers, programmers, and leaders for the residents of the assigned floor(s).
As a Member of Hall Council
Hall Council is a student-run organization that supports the work of the RAs and aims to better the quality of life for all students living in NYUAD residences. It strives to be an inclusive organization, open to and serving the diverse needs of all residents by creating large-scale programs for the NYUAD community, including the establishment of residential initiatives and traditions, and a forum to share ideas. We encourage all students to join Hall Council, attend meetings, and provide program suggestions.
