Applying for Financial Support

Students who have submitted either an Early Decision or Regular Decision application for admission can apply for financial support by completing either the International Student Financial Aid Application (ISFAA) or the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE application (PROFILE application).  To be considered for financial support at NYU Abu Dhabi for the school year 2010-2011, applicants must complete and submit either the ISFAA or the PROFILE application.   NYU Abu Dhabi will accept either form from students, regardless of citizenship.  Please do not submit both forms.

For those students applying for Early Decision admission to NYU Abu Dhabi, the deadline for submitting either the ISFAA or the PROFILE application is November 15, 2009.  Please note - the Early Decision Financial Aid Application found on the NYU Undergraduate Admissions web site is not a form that is being used by NYU Abu Dhabi to calculate financial support.  Please do not submit this form.

For those students applying for Regular Decision admission to NYU Abu Dhabi, the deadline for submitting either the ISFAA or the PROFILE application is February 15, 2010.

If you are a student living outside the U.S., you can receive help with your application from advising centers located around the world sponsored by the U.S. Department of State

  • Read the “2010-2011 PROFILE Student Guide” which provides information on how students register to use the PROFILE application and answers frequently asked questions about the PROFILE application.  This can be found at https://profileonline.collegeboard.com
  • Complete registration for your personalized application which is available at www.collegeboard.com
  • Complete and submit the PROFILE application.  This application can be found at https://profileonline.collegeboard.com. The code for NYU Abu Dhabi is 2785.
  • You will be asked to submit tax forms and/or financial statements to verify the data submitted on your financial support application.  Please do not submit these documents until they are requested.

Steps in the Application Process

The process of completing the PROFILE application can be challenging.  Following the on-line instructions and completing the necessary worksheets will allow for a smoother process in submitting the requested information.

The basic steps are as follows

  • If you have submitted a completed Early Decision or Regular Decision application for admission, you will receive from NYU Abu Dhabi a fee payment code, which will allow you to submit the application free of charge at the end of the process.
  • Sign up for the PROFILE application service at https://profileonline.collegeboard.com.
  • Click on "2010-11".
  • If you are already a member, sign in. If you are not a member, you must create an account by clicking on "Sign Up". Once you have created an account you must register. (Note that there is no charge for registering.)
  • Complete the "Student" information.  Be sure to use the same name and other identifiers as you have used on your passport or other official documents.
  • Once you have submitted your student information and signed up, you have access to Customized Pre-application Worksheets, Instructions, Help Desk, and Contact Information for the College Board. Be sure to complete the Pre-application Worksheets before you begin the actual application. The worksheets will make the process of completing the application much easier.
  • If your parent will be assisting in completing the PROFILE application, complete the parental information.  (Note:  You may share your user name and password with your parent when completing the PROFILE application.)
  • Choose your user name and password.  Be sure to write down this information and keep it handy for use whenever you access the PROFILE web site.
  • Once you have submitted the completed PROFILE application, you will be directed to the application payment page. Enter your fee payment code. Your application will then be officially submitted free of charge.

Read all of the instructions carefully before beginning to fill out the PROFILE application.

NOTE:  Keep a file of all documents you used to complete the PROFILE application as you may be asked for copies for verification purposes.

Be aware that you do not need to complete the PROFILE application in one sitting.  You may save the information you have entered and return to the form at a later date to continue completing the form.  DO NOT HIT SUBMIT UNTIL THE APPLICATION IS COMPLETE!

Once you have submitted your completed PROFILE application, you will be contacted by the College Board’s Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC).  We have contracted with them to collect the documents we will need to verify the information contained in your PROFILE application.  Please provide these documents as quickly as possible so that we may process your financial support package in a timely manner.
