Your Role
With the goal of identifying and admitting the world's most talented students, we turn to you for the expertise you have developed in your communities and schools. Together, we will work to provide the best and brightest students in the world with an unparalleled educational opportunity at NYU Abu Dhabi.
Thanks to the support of experienced counselors, educators, and community leaders who help us identify which high-achieving students will thrive in NYU Abu Dhabi's unique environment, we have welcomed outstanding students to our community, and look forward to working together as we identify future students.
While students must separately apply for admission to NYU Abu Dhabi — and present a strong case for their academic and extracurricular merits — your nomination can greatly assist us in understanding and fully appreciating the excellence of a student in his or her educational and national context.
The Nomination
The nomination information provided by the nominator is particularly important in helping NYU Abu Dhabi understand the academic caliber of the nominee within the larger educational context of the student's school and country. Each nomination form is submitted by the nominator and must include:
- Identifying information for the student (name, address, passport and citizenship, date of birth, gender), and yourself.
- Brief evaluations of the student in the areas of:
- Personal characteristics and "fit" for NYU Abu Dhabi
- Academic achievements
- Leadership and community involvement
- A brief writing assignment to be completed by the student and submitted to you digitally. You will then copy and paste the student's original work into the nomination form.
- A current official academic record (transcript) as well as other evidence of academic excellence.
- A current school profile, if available, or a description of your organization
The Student's Role
In addition to the nomination and the student's writing assignment, all nominees must also submit a complete application for admission — the Common Application with the NYU Supplement — by the published deadlines to be considered for admission.
