Name and Date of Birth
Entering your name and date of birth correctly is very important! Please pay attention to the order of how you enter this information, and use your full legal name as it appears on your passport. If this information is entered incorrectly on your application, it will be difficult to change later.
US Social Security Number
In the "Applicant" section, a US social security number is only required for US citizens. Others may leave the field blank.
Finding Your High School Code
In the "Education" section, there is a search option to help you find your school's CEEB code, if there is one for your school. If you type in the name of your city and country and still cannot find your high school, then there is a Not Found option at the bottom of the page that you may choose.
The Writing Supplement asks students to reflect on their interest in New York University as a whole, as well as the student's particular interest in NYU Abu Dhabi.
The Writing Supplement asks:
NYU’s global network of campuses, schools, colleges, and programs, provides an unrivaled urban university experience to cultivate our students’ intellectual curiosity and to help them achieve their future career goals.
In evaluating your candidacy for admission, we are interested in making the best match possible with all that NYU has to offer. As a result, we are curious to learn about your academic and personal interests and how those interests relate to what we offer in the idea capitals of the world in which NYU campuses are located.
Please address, in your essay response, the following:
- Given the NYU campuses of interest you selected on the Common Application – whether they be your primary and alternate home campuses of interest or where you would like to study away while you are a student – where, exactly, would you like to study at NYU – and why?
- Whether you are undecided or you have a definitive plan of study in mind, what are your academic interests and how do you plan to explore them at NYU?
You may have one or many campuses, schools, colleges, programs, and/or areas of interest, so please elaborate on your interests.
At any time during the application process, you may submit the application fee. For more information on how to pay the fee or how to request a fee waiver, please see the Application Requirements page.
After filling out the Release Authorization, you will be able to enter the names of your teacher and counselor whom you have chosen to write recommendations for you. Don't wait until the end to do this section — be sure to give your teachers enough time to complete the forms! If you enter an email address for each of them, they will be sent a message inviting them to either fill out the recommendation forms online or submit them as a hard copy by mail. You, the student, should follow up with your teacher and counselor.
If you have a teacher or counselor who would prefer to submit your evaluation in hardcopy, you can assign the recommender without entering an email address. This will give you access to PDF forms which you can print and provide to your counselor. Hardcopy documents should be mailed to:
NYU Abu Dhabi Admissions
19 Washington Square North
New York, NY 1001
Please note that each recommender must complete his or her forms either entirely online, or entirely offline.
Submitting Your High School Transcripts
Request that your school submit an official, sealed copy of your transcripts from grade nine up through the most recent marks you have received at the time of applying. You do NOT need to submit your final grade 12 results while applying, as most students will not have those yet. It is helpful for the school to submit a school profile along with the transcripts.
