About the Application
NYU Abu Dhabi will look at the student's entire application, including grades, test scores, extracurricular work, recommendations, personal statements, etc. We cannot evaluate an application without the submission of all parts; there is no single most important element to the application. Before submitting any form, be sure to make copies for your own records (this step does not apply to teacher recommendation letters, which should not be shared with the student or his/her family prior to submission; instead, request that your teacher retain a copy of your recommendation for his/her records).
How to Submit
Please submit all supplemental materials digitally via the Common Application website whenever possible. If necessary, you may submit documents in hard copy to:

Student Application Checklist
- Complete the Common Application. Search for and select "New York University." You will be able to select the Abu Dhabi campus on the NYU Supplement.
- Complete the NYU Supplement to the Common Application. (If you are submitting a paper version of the Common Application, you may download the corresponding paper version of the NYU Supplement on our website.)
Ask your counselor/adviser and instructor(s) to complete and submit the required School Forms that are required (see below). By providing an email address for your school officials, they will be sent a message inviting them to fill out the recommendation forms online. They will also have the option of submitting any documents in hard copy by mail. You, the student, should follow up with your teacher and counselor as well. Please note:
- The school officials you identify do not need to wait for you to submit your application before submitting their supporting school forms, but a university will not be able to access their forms until you have submitted your application. Specific instructions can be found in the "School Form" section of the Common Application.
- If you choose to complete the forms on paper, you should print the appropriate PDF forms, fill in the application information area, and provide them to your counselor and instructor(s).
The following forms are required:
- Secondary School Report
- At least one Teacher Recommendation Form. Additional recommendation forms may be submitted by teachers or counselors.
- Mid-Year Report with updated transcript, showing first semester/term grades from your final year of secondary school, by March 1st.
- Final Report with final transcript, showing proof of graduation, by July 1st (for admitted students only).
- Request that your school submit an official, sealed copy of your secondary school transcript to:

USA Submit your standardized test score(s).
- All scores should be submitted as official reports directly from the testing agency (if possible) or from a student's school counselor with an official stamp.
- TOEFL and IELTS scores may be submitted as additional support of a student's English ability, but do not satisfy our exam requirements.
- The NYU code for submitting SAT and TOEFL scores is 2562. The NYU code for submitting ACT scores is 2838. Any other exam scores should be sent directly to the address above.
- Ensure that you have a valid passport.
- If you are applying for financial support, you must submit a financial support application.
Application Fee Policy for NYU Abu Dhabi
Applicants to NYU Abu Dhabi are expected to pay a non-refundable application fee. Please note there is a fee waiver process described below. The fee is $70.00 US dollars and can be paid online by credit card. If you must submit a check or money order instead, please include your name, Common Application and/or NYU University ID number on your check or money order. Please make your check or money order payable to New York University and send to:

Please do not send cash under any circumstances.
Fee Waiver Requests
Students who feel that the application fee would be a financial hardship may request a fee waiver. If you would like to request a fee waiver, please check any one of the fee waiver boxes on the Common Application and after you have completed and submitted your application, submit your brief request in writing to nyuad.admissions@nyu.edu. If you do not hear from us in two business days, you can assume that your request has been granted.
We cannot consider your fee waiver request after you apply for admission if you did not check one of the fee waiver boxes on the Common Application.
