A specialist in film theory and history, Robert Stam has published widely on Brazilian cinema, multiculturalism, and literary adaptation. He has recently collaborated with Ella Shohat on a study of transnational patriotism in an international context. Stam has been awarded the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship, NDEA Fellowship, Rockefeller Fellowship, Fulbright Lectureship, and Guggenheim Fellowship.
