Rajeswari Sunder Rajan is Global Distinguished Professor in the Department of English at New York University. She works in the areas of postcolonial studies, feminist theory, gender, law, and religion in South Asia, British Victorian literature and the Anglophone novel in India. Her publications include Real and Imagined Women: Gender, Culture and Postcolonialism, The Scandal of the State: Women, Law and Citizenship in Postcolonial India and the co-edited volume Crisis of Secularism in India.
