Ella Shohat has written on Orientalism, transnational media, and postcolonial diasporic cultures. She is the recipient of such fellowships as the Rockefeller Foundation; Fulbright research/lectureship; the University of California "Regents Lectureship;" and the Society for the Humanities at Cornell University. Translated into many languages, her publications include: Taboo Memories, Diasporic VoicesTalking Visions; coauthored with Robert Stam, Unthinking Eurocentrism (Katherine Kovacs Singer Best Book Award); Flagging Patriotism; Race in Translation; and The Cultural Politics of “the Middle East” in the Americas.
