Academic advising will be a continuing process that engages students in defining their educational goals, interests, and academic concentrations so that they will take full advantage of the opportunities and resources of NYU Abu Dhabi. Advising is not only a means for students to obtain useful guidance and information; it is also an extension of the educational process in which students assess and reflect on their own intellectual and personal growth.
Advising will be multi-layered and involve peers, deans, faculty, and staff. Different types of advising will be available across campus—in student residences, at the Office of Advising and the Office of Career Services and Internships, and in academic buildings where faculty are located.
Office of Career Services and Internships
The Office of Career Services and Internships will serve as a liaison between students and employers. The Office will develop internship opportunities with local companies and organizations in order to help students find appropriate internships and prepare for professional work after NYU Abu Dhabi. The Office will also establish internship protocols so that employers understand the educational nature of internships and advise students about their obligations and professional standards of conduct.
